PI Boards Concept was born from a simple inspiration: bringing the feeling of surfing onto land, creating a natural fusion between water sports and land-based board sports.
The Experience
Behind PI Boards Concept are two people who have dedicated their lives to board sports.
Paolo Iannetti comes from the world of professional windsurfing. Over more than thirty years he developed deep expertise in carbon fiber and ultra-light construction techniques.
Pino Bucci comes from a background in architecture. A freestyle ski champion and pioneer of snowboarding in Italy, he founded FREE 100% Boards in 1983.
For Pino, sport and design have never been separate worlds.
The Concept
Their paths crossed again during one of Paolo's trips back to Italy.
Pino showed him the first paddleskate prototypes. Within minutes the potential was clear.
Using surfboard construction principles - EPS foam cores and composite laminations - Paolo developed new prototypes that were lighter, more responsive and more precise.
From their collaboration, PI Boards Concept was born - a board designed to bring the spirit of surfing wherever there is no ocean.
